Whole Turkey (Uncooked)

12-14 lbs whole turkey from Minnesota-based Turkey Valley Farms. The aroma of turkey roasting in the oven before dinner will bring comfort to the whole family.

*Thaw turkey in fridge for 48 hours ahead of cooking day
To Roast Turkey: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Pull neck and giblets out of cavity; ditch liver and save the rest of giblets for gravy (optional). Dry turkey with paper towels, then season inside and out with salt and pepper. Fill turkey with aromatics like chopped onions, carrots, apples and herbs, then place breast-side up in a roasting pan and brush with melted butter. Tent with foil and roast for 2 hours. Remove foil, baste with more melted butter and crank oven to 425 degrees F. Roast for another hour or until meat at thigh registers 165 degrees F. (Source: World’s Simplest Thanksgiving Turkey)
