Anyone can order Top Box Foods and everyone should! Each person who buys a box helps expand the Top Box Foods community, which increases purchasing power and savings. By eating well and spending less on groceries, you are creating positive change for yourself, your family, and your community.
How the Makin' Groceries Program Works
Top Box Foods shops all month to find you the best deals on fresh fruits and vegetables and frozen meats, poultry, and fish.
We then bundle the food in boxes and partner with churches, community organizations, housing facilities, and schools to help spread the word about these tremendous savings.
In New Orleans, all boxes are pre-ordered by individuals and delivered monthly to convenient locations, typically in communities with limited access to healthy and affordable food.
Because we keep our costs low, we're able to give 5% of sales back to our partnering organizations.

Delivery and Pickup
Our volunteer staff and truck will arrive at the delivery site at the scheduled time and set up for business.
You arrive within the 1 hour pickup time. At the cashier station, tell the volunteer staff your name and they will confirm your order. If you’ve pre-paid for your boxes, let the Top Box Foods volunteer staff person know, and they will process your order. If you are paying at the time of pick up, let the Top Box Foods volunteer staff person know, and they will take your payment and process your order. Once you have paid for your boxes, take your receipt to the truck, show it to the Top Box Foods volunteer staff at the truck who will make sure your order is filled correctly and help you to your car.

Top Box Foods is different than your typical retail store. We work hard to identify direct sources of high quality, healthy food from vendors, and we buy enough of it to get the best possible pricing. Because we are a non-profit, we run the business without a lot of the usual costs of a retail grocery store. To keep our costs low and our prices averaging around 40% off the cost of retail, we have a vast network of volunteer support, no fixed assets or real estate, no trucks or warehouses to own, low overhead costs, minimal retail and marketing costs, low transportation costs, no investors demanding a return, and no retail mark-up.
Our food comes from several trusted suppliers who are able to find good deals on high quality products from manufacturers and brokers who primarily supply restaurants, grocery stores, and catering businesses – businesses that demand consistent, high quality products to successfully support the large volume and expectations of the operations they run.
Our goal is to communicate clearly and regularly with our customers. For this reason, you will receive a confirmation email when you place an order (if you provide an active email address). We also attempt to call and text all of our customers to remind them about their order contents, delivery location, and the pickup day and time. Customers are then added to our newsletter and promotional email and text lists. If you prefer not to be on those lists, you can either unsubscribe or just notify us by phone or email that you would like to be removed.
